Minecraft has released a Minecraft Launcher for Windows 10 and 11 PCs. And Minecraft is joining the list of games in the Xbox Game Pass library. Xbox Game Pass brings a lot of games to PC users for a nominal price. And Xbox Game Pass was one of the biggest improvements Microsoft touted for Windows 11. You might have to login afterwards when you start the launcher.Windows 11 was made for gamers, at least that’s how Microsoft sold it. Just rename it to launcher_profiles.json and replace the existing file. The new launcher should have created a file called launcher_ in your Minecraft data ( %appdata%) folder. You can prevent that by launching the launcher.jar file it downloads to the Minecraft data ( %appdata%) folder when you first launch it directly. Using this directly to launch the game will show a message that you should update the launcher. If the old Minecraft.exe launcher is not working for you, you can download the "Linux / Other" variant. Nethertheless, you can report bugs regarding the old and new launcher on the bug tracker (if they are not already reported) to make sure the devs are aware of them. Therefor I wanted to create this post to provide steps to download and use the old launcher. There are sadly some bugs with the new launcher which prevent players from playing. (#spoiler) = neat!
